First of all, your concern with purchasing a high quality animal as part of your family is very important to us.
We breed these dogs and only these dogs, because we feel they are an excellent family pet. Our concern is that
there are a lot of people deciding they are “breeders” and that the same thing that happened to British
Bulldogs will happen to the Olde Victorian Bulldogge. Because of this we will generally sell our puppies with a
“non breeding contract” or occasionally to other kennels in North America who have the highest standards
and the best interest of the breed at heart.
OUR GOALS:
We are committed first and foremost to the health and vitality of our dogs and to the promotion of the Olde
Victorian Bulldogge as a superb breed. Our breeding stock must meet high health standards and undergo
extensive hip examinations. Everything possible is done to produce strong, athletic, muscular dogs with loyal,
even temperments. Eventually, we hope to produce pure black bulldogges. Watch for our "MAX BLACKS"
Overall these dogs are much healthier than the British Bulldog but again they will only stay that way through a
vigilant and responsible breeding program. We are a registered kennel with the Victorian Bulldogge
Association and we work with other reputable breeders. Any stud we use from outside our kennel has to be
carefully scrutinized, his lineage is reviewed and any pups he has produced. We look at his conformation and
strong characteristics and pair it with the best bitch.
Our puppies are whelped indoors in a clean environment and are handled by the whole family from the day
they are born. They are extremely social and form a strong bond with humans while still being with their
mother and littermates. We don’t like them to leave the litter until they are at least 8 weeks old. They are
weaned onto the raw diet and have their first shot and wormings before they go. We also dock all our puppies
tails at 3 days old.
OUR FEEDING PROGRAM:
From extensive research in canine nutrition, we have found that freshly ground, male chicken parts as well as
vitamins, herbs and probiotics promote health and ensure the genetic improvement of future litters. All our
dogs are raised on a “raw diet”. We prefer not to use commercial dog foods (research Macleans Magazine,
April 30, 2007) . They are also given a range of high quality supplements and herbs other breeders don't. In
fact, our dogs are nourished better than many people! This program though sounding extreme, improves the
health and longevity of the dogs and this strengthens each generation.
Future buyers are encouraged to have their names added to our waiting list to avoid disappointment as our
females are not bred at every heat and we have only a couple of litters per year. We hope to have litters in the
late fall of 2008. We take deposits only after the puppies are born.
